About Nestor
Nestor grew up in Miami, Florida, and got his start in sales at just 14 years old, selling newspapers and consumer electronics. He later attended Mission College in California before pivoting into software engineering. From there, he climbed the ranks into management, executive leadership, and business ownership across the tech, oil & gas, and manufacturing sectors. He’s been married for over 38 years, is a proud dad to four adult children, and shares life with his rescue dog, Tazzy, an American Staffordshire Terrier.
Sales Background
Nestor has 16 years of formal sales experience and 13 years in executive sales leadership, though he’s been selling in some form or another most of his life. His background spans both technical and commercial leadership roles. Before joining Topaz, Nestor was on a sabbatical when he decided it was time to shift his focus on to something he found meaningful, challenging, and fun. Having been a longtime Topaz client, the transition into consulting felt like a natural fit.
Favorite Aspects of Sales
Nestor’s favorite part of being a Sales Consultant is solving real-world problems in a way that helps others thrive. He finds deep satisfaction in contributing to his clients’ success, whether that’s a better sales process, more confident teams, or meaningful growth. He also loves that his role lets him continue coaching, mentoring, and empowering others to reach their potential.
Core Values
Nestor lives by three guiding principles: leave it better than you found it, do something, and what you see is what you get. He believes in taking initiative, being authentic, and making a positive impact wherever he goes. His straightforward approach and commitment to action are reflected in his Red and Yellow DISC profile; a combination that blends a strong drive for results with natural charisma and optimism.
Interests and Favorites
Outside of work, Nestor enjoys riding his bike and working on his cars. He’s a fan of sci-fi, spy thrillers, and political intrigue films, and spends time watching YouTube and podcasts on topics like economics, machine learning, and physics—favorites include Freakonomics, Economics Explained, and Sabine Hossenfelder. If he could give advice to his younger self, it would be: Be more strategic when taking risks.
